Conference Presenters

Thank you for participating in the 2021 Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture Annual Conference, March 17-19, 2021.  The CELA staff is working with staff from EFOGI Inc., the virtual platform provider, to execute the virtual conference.

We are excited about working with all the presenters to make sure the virtual conference format runs smoothly.

Please note these IMPORTANT DATES:

  1. February 26th by 11:59 PM ET: Oral Presenters and Film Presenters must submit a recording of their presentation and all Poster participants must submit a PNG image.
  2. March 2nd at 2pm EST or Thurday, March 4th at 10am EST: Training sessions for Oral and Film Presenters
  3. March 17th to March 19th: CELA Conference

For each type of presentation, we have different instructions. Please find your presentation type below:

Posters

The Poster Hall will be available for viewing during the conference and through mid-May 2021.

Please follow this step-by-step guide to ensure your submission is ready for viewing:

  1. Create a 1152 x 768 px PNG image of your poster. You may provide more than one image with your poster content.
  1. Include your contact information:
  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (This will not be published and will only be used by CELA/EFOGI staff as an alternate contact method)
  1. Upload the file to the Google Drive link provided to you in the “CELA Conference Google Drive” email. If you did not receive the Google Drive link, request via email message to support@thecelaconference.org.
  2. Share the files with us by Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.

Optional: Submit an audio narration providing an overview of the poster (maximum 5 minutes). The virtual platform supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, WMA, AAC, AIF, AIFF audio files up to 50MB.

Live Panel Presenters

On the day of your presentation, please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your session. Find your date and time on the CELA Conference Schedule.

Please follow this step-by-step guide to ensure your session runs smoothly:

  1. Attend the training session on Feb. 16th at 4 pm ET OR Feb. 17th at 9 am ET to learn how to use the event platform.
  2. Please contact the EFOGI Support Team at  support@thecelaconference.org if you have not received the training registration link.
  3. Locate your day and time on the 2021 CELA Conference Schedule. (All times are Mountain Time/UTC-7.)
  4. Arrive 15 minutes before your session starts to enter the Speakers’ Virtual Green Room to test your sound and video.

Oral Presenters

Participate in a training session to learn how the Live Q&A sessions will be conducted on Tuesday, March 2nd at 4pm EST OR Thursday, March 4th at 10am EST. Please email EFOGI Support Team at support@thecelaconference.org  to schedule your session.

You will be recording your presentation. Recordings are due by Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET. Please plan to attend during your time slot to participate in the Live Q&A after the presentation. Find your date and time on the CELA Conference Schedule.

Please follow this step-by-step guide to ensure your presentation runs smoothly:

  1. Locate your day and time on the 2021 CELA Conference Schedule. (All times are Mountain Time/UTC-7)
  2. Plan to attend during your time slot to participate in the live Q&A session. Due to hosting a virtual conference this year, we will be unable to accommodate schedule changes without extenuating circumstances.
  3. Record your presentation and submit it by Feb. 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET. You have 2 options for recording:
    1. Record your presentation with the help of EFOGI. Please contact EFOGI Support Team to arrange your recording. They will provide further instructions and a link to the broadcast studio.

OR

  1. Self-record and self-edit your presentation.

Oral Presenter Instructions for Self-Recording:

  1. Before recording, read the Tips for Preparing Your Oral Presentation
  2. Record and edit a 12-minute (or shorter) presentation.
  3. Upload the file to the Google Drive link provided to you in the “CELA Conference Google Drive” email. If you did not receive the Google Drive link, request via email message to support@thecelaconference.org.
  4. Share the files with us by Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.

Tips for Preparing Your Oral Presentation:

  • Have your PowerPoint presentation ready to share on your screen.
  • Virtual backgrounds are not supported with this platform, so have a clean, simple, and professional background.
  • Turn all devices to silent (Phone, tablet, computer notifications, desk or house phone, and anything else that may have alarms or make noise).
  • Close all other programs on your computer that are not used for the presentation. (If your computer makes noise, it will be recorded.)
  • Inform other people around that you to be mindful of making noise and not to interrupt you.
  • The recording must be no longer than 12 minutes. Have a clock or run a timer (silently) on your phone if it helps.
  • All recordings longer than 12 minutes will be returned with a request to edit down in length.
