CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

CELA OFFICERS AND REGIONAL DIRECTORS

The Executive Board of CELA is accepting nominations for its annual election of Officers and Regional Directors through Monday, December 12, 2016. The 2017 offices up for election are:

  • First Vice President/President Elect  (three-year term 2017-2020)
  • Treasurer  (two-year term 2017-2019)
  • Regional Director for Region 1  (three-year term 2017-2020)
  • Regional Director for Region 4  (three-year term 2017-2020)
  • Regional Director for Region 7  (three-year term 2017-2020)
  • A separate election will be held for Student Director  (two-year term 2017-2019)

Nominations for the positions of First Vice President / President-Elect and Treasurer may come from any CELA full-member institution in good standing. Only schools or individuals in Regions 1, 4 and 7 are eligible in this election cycle to nominate from their respective Region for a Regional Director position. Self-nominations from CELA-member institutions in good standing also are acceptable.

All nominees should have the approval of their academic administrators thereby reflecting the institutional support needed to conduct the activities of the position for which they are being nominated (for example, CELA Board members are expected to attend CELA’s annual conferences at their expense or their institution’s.  Support for accommodations and meals for two days of pre-conference Board meetings is provided by CELA.)

TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION

Nomination materials must include:

  • Brief bio (include previous service to CELA and to institution)
  • Qualifications for the position
  • A statement that discusses the prospective candidate’s plan to provide service to CELA as an Officer or Regional Director (2 pages maximum)  

Submit nominations in PDF file format no later than Monday, December 12th, 2016 by Midnight central standard time to:
