CELA 2025 Annual Conference
Conference Theme: Processes + Impacts
March 27-29, 2025 | Portland, Oregon, USA
Landscape architecture shapes the world through processes across multiple scales of time, space, people in the interconnected social-ecological-technological systems aiming to sustain communities and strengthen the stewardship with the Earth.
The CELA 2025 conference, titled “Processes + Impacts”, welcomes landscape architecture educators, students, practitioners, allied professionals, stakeholders, and community partners. Together, we will critically examine theories and practices, exploring both the positive and negative impacts of our work on people and environments.
This year’s conference focuses on these critical questions:
- Defining and Employing Processes: How do landscape architects utilize and define their design processes?
- Measuring Impacts: How can we understand and demonstrate the true impact of landscape architecture?
- Transforming Education and Practice: How can we use these insights to transform landscape architecture education to advance the profession?
- Equity and Accountability: How can we ensure equity and accountability throughout the processes and outcomes of education, scholarship, and practice?
By examining our processes and their impacts, we can work together to critically examine the actions to not only advance but transform landscape architecture education and practice to the next milestone for our common future that is more sustainable, humane, and resilient in our environments and communities.
